What are your prayers like during this pandemic? What are you praying for? What are the motives of your prayers and how do you expect God to answer? Whenever we pray in the Spirit of Christ, and for the will of God to take place, and for God to receive glory in every situation, we are praying with the right motives. "Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart" (Ps. 37:4). What are your desires when you pray? If our desires are selfish, our prayers will not be heard. But when we seek forgiveness with our brother/sister, when we pray from a pure heart, when we ask "God's will be done, not mine", the LORD not only hears our prayers but chisels away the parts of us that we are not Jesus. We learn to trust God in prayer, we begin to know his heart for forgiveness and the reconciliation of others, and we start praying as Christ. We must pray for unity, for love, and for the world to know the hope of glory, Jesus Christ. And according to scripture (Mal. 3), when our obedience to God is demonstrated through sacrificial giving, the Lord promises to take care of our needs. Therefore, when we are obedient to give to God, we can pray about our relationships, our mission, and God's vision for our lives, in order to bring about God's Kingdom on earth, just as it is in heaven.
