Good afternoon my dear brothers/sisters:
First of all, praise God from whom all blessings flow, a God who is not threatened by war, or disease, or famine or worry. Our God is mighty to save, and he will continue to comfort his sheep as he guides us with his loving, compassionate care.
I'd like to update you on the following 4 items that were discussed by the same leadership team which conversed last week: Eddie from Properties Team, Dan from Safety Team, and Denise and John, our Deacon Co-Chairs and myself.
1. Based on recent news, guidance and urging from state and federal leadership, we are cancelling all Sunday and Wednesday events and meetings (and any other scheduled gatherings) through March 31st; also, we will reassess what changes need to be made, if any, at the end of March. If there are any new government recommendations/mandates that are made over the next several days, we will keep you informed if any of those new decisions and how they might affect our gatherings beyond the month of March.
2. Our Deacons will be following up with our church families, inquiring about any needs or concerns; our hope is that we connect in ways demonstrate Christ to all of you during this unusual and uncertain time.
3. Our church office plans to remain open as long as we are able. This means that the church is open from 9am-1pm, M-Thurs. Feel free to call the church office during office hours at 336-924-2771 if you have any questions, or feel free to drop by during office hours. As a reminder, if you are sick or have been around anyone who is sick, please call the office instead of stopping by the church building.
4. We continue to encourage your giving by dropping your offering by the church or mailing it to the church (the church address is 5815 Murray Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27106); additionally, you can give online by going to our website at unitedbaptistonline.org and clicking on the "Give" tab. Thank you in advance for your generosity in loving God through your giving. Please know that there is a small processing fee for using this online giving technology.
Lastly, I'll be sharing another word of hope sometime this evening via phone tree. Thank you, dear family, for your prayers and your patience, and may God keep all of you safe, healthy and blessed in the days and weeks ahead. God is in control, and he loves us so very, very much. Love in Christ to all of you!
Pastor Will
